Helping Start a New Network
by Jeff Stephenson
Doing youth ministry in Utah has a number a tremendous challenges (as does any location), but one thing is a guarantee here and that is that networking together with others is TREMENDOUSLY beneficial.
The Christian Youth Network of Utah has been a functioning network in the Salt Lake area for more than 20 years and we have seen some amazing things come from our ministry together.
Recently a group of youth workers (with the help of Mike DeVito, the NNYM regional coordinator for the Southwest Region) took a road trip 300 miles south to the city of St. George, UT with the hope to help support and start a new network in that area of our state.
God has already been stirring something up there in the hearts of youth leaders and pastors and we were just looking to help "spur them on"; and encourage them to be intentional in their ministry. As the state coordinator for Utah I am looking to support this new network as best I can and I am looking for your help in that effort.
What advice our counsel would you offer to a group of excited youth workers who are looking to get started on this awesome road of network ministry? What things have you all tried that have worked? What hasn't worked? What resources have you been able to take advantage of?
Your help in making this development successful is greatly appreciated!
