Interl'inc

Dean of Music & Media

Born in Liberia, West Africa and raised in Chicago, Detroit and small-town West Florida, Allen earned a B.S. in Physics Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Florida State University (1971). In 1981, his grad school research team completed a landmark study “Contemporary Christian Music and the Church Youth Group Student” that analyzed the classic disconnect between the Christian music industry and local church youth ministries. He served as Director of Marketing for Word Records (ABC-Capital Cities), associated labels, and Word Regional Promotion from 1981-1987. He directed, produced and distributed the ECHOES documentary film (1984) viewed by over one million students. Allen with three associates founded interlinc (1987), a music and media resource organization that links the music and media industries and local church youth ministries. interlinc has been a part of the marketing, management and ministry teams of many major Christian artists over the past 25 years, including dc Talk, Petra, Michael W. Smith, Audio Adrenaline, and tobyMac. In addition, interlinc has directed the church youth group marketing and promotion of many films including “A Walk To Remember,” “The Passion of the Christ,” “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, The Wardrobe,” “Jonah, A VeggieTales Movie,” and “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”. Allen and Dale Davis Weed have been married 30 years (1978). Allen and Dale became grandparents in September 2008 when their son Ryan and his wife Keli introduced Beckham Davis Weed to the planet.
